Make time and space to be creative

I find myself fatigued, stressed and a little wired at the end of my days and scrolling just isn't helping. So it was time to pick up a quick, mindless project. And this weather is screaming strawberry right now. How many pincushions do I need? At least one more. How are you managing the stress?

I am going to join in in #igquiltfest2025 for the first time this year. ( I missed yesterday so HI) I am Michelle and I work full time in healthcare so quilting helps me keep my sanity. Here's the quilt that got me into quilting recently. I made this in 2021, as a gift for a cousin's baby. I still love teals to sew with along with most bright colors. Since COVID, my job satisfaction has dwindled, but sewing makes me happy, fun fabric makes me smile and finishing a project is so satisfying, even if it doesn't happen often 😁. This year I have a goal of releasing at least one quilt pattern but have so many great ideas in my head just waiting to come out! Other facts about me: I have 2 preteen/teen girls, one of whom is a prolific crocheter. We have several cats and we love them all, even when they try to help with my quilting projects. My other escape is reading. I love a good romantasy and have also just dived into the sci Fi world of Brandon Sanderson (watch out it's a rabbit hole). I am a xennial so right now am juggling being the mid-life mom, going through perimenopause, and being on the constant struggle of life, healthy movement, fatigue and fear of failing, oh and worried about my country falling apart. So yeah I totally need quilting!! Looking forward to getting to know other quilters this month.
